Strengthening Method of T-Beam Bridge and Effectiveness Evaluation

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this paper, the typical deterioration of Northern Approach of Binzhou Yellow River Bridge is reviewed and the method of strengthening is proposed. Based on the theory of grillage method, T-beam grillage is modeled using finite element analysis software Midas civil to study the dynamic behavior of North approach’s superstructure after strengthening. Concerns about integrity of the carrying capacity and overall safety of the bridge are raised. Load simulation tests were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the method and investigate its effect on structural behavior. And the results indicated that the bridge after strengthening could meet the demanding of intensity and rigidity.
