Design of Monitoring and Alarm System for the Ship’s Engine Room

Article Preview

Abstract:

A monitoring and alarm system for the ship’s engine room based on CAN bus is introduced in this paper. The paper describes the sensors and signal processing circuit used in the monitoring and alarming system in detail. Analog isolated measurement modules is designed in order to avoid damage to the interface circuit of the system. To get the greatest possible reliability in communication, protection circuit is increased to the CAN bus and implemented on the CAN bus physical layer redundancy.
