The Optimum Road Length in the Container Port

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper presents the optimum length formula, which is supposed to solve the jam problem by arranging the port road logically. The relation between the velocity-density-flow rate is applied as the theory basis for derivation of the optimum length. Three hypotheses are employed to smooth away the difficulty of time and space integration by using the geometric principle. The optimum road length in the container port roadway can provide valuable information for the port roadway design.
