Study on the Filling Particle for Foam Ferrous Metalmaking Needed

Article Preview

Abstract:

A novel manufacturing and dissolving technology of filling particle for making foam ferrous metal by infiltration process has been developed. The filling particles were fabricated with a mixing method, and were bonded together through a heat treatment to form a sphere assembly in a mold. The results showed that the size of the filling particles 3-5mm and the concentration 20% of the hydrofluoric acid can meet the need .Based on the orthogonal experiments, shaping forming process and ratio of raw materials and solvent ae also investigated in this paper. The result show that 40% sodium silicate, 90% silica sand concentration and 1% of adhesive ratio have better foam ferrous metal. The thermodynamics and kinetics analyses show that the filling particle can be dissolved in the hydrofluoric acid solvent and good foam ferrous metal was obtained.
