Two Algorithms of Getting Inner Grids in Boundary Mesh Search Method for Mesh Generation

Abstract:

Two algorithms, named Inner Seed Grid Filling Method (ISGFM) and Outer Seed Grid Filling Method (OSGFM), which when generating Finite Difference Method(FDM) mesh, were used to filling or dividing the sort of grids for casting or mold or core, etc, were considered. On the basis of analyzing space relationship between scanning line and casting boundary, two conditions were gained,1) the number of grids crossed by scanning line must be even number; 2) any two boundary grids crossed by scanning line must be not neighbored to each other. On the above discussion, IGFM was constructed. For OGFM, any corner of mesh region can directly regarded as a grain to do filling operation. Comparing these two algorithms, the OGFM can deal with the condition when there were more than two isolated shapes in the same mesh generation region, and showed more priority. Finally, two examples were given.
