Microstructures and Toughening Mechanisms of Micro-Crack Zone for Ceramic Materials

Article Preview

Abstract:

A toughening model of micro-crack reinforced ceramic matrix composites is presented. It was shown that alternating iteration method can estimate the main micro-crack interaction efficiently and accurately, making the statistical assessment possible. The constitutive equation is obtained through micromechanical considerations based on micro-crack zone toughening.
