Article Preview

Abstract:

Consumer demands are getting increasingly delicate and personalized, while retailers’ stocking is changing into an advanced mode with more varieties, smaller quantities and multi-batch. As an advanced delivery model, joint distribution is capable to integrate social resources, improve logistics distribution efficiency, ease urban traffic and reduce environmental pollution, and to improve the urban logistics. Basic concepts and operation models are discussed in the paper, and several suggestions for solving the existing problems are proposed.
