Preparation and Morphological Investigation of Sulfur Microcapsule Produced in Scale-Up Process via In Situ Polymerization

Abstract:

Based on the previous experimental results, a scale-up level preparation process of sulfur microcapsule was planned and the pertinent equipment were manufactured or purchased and installed. After that, the scale-up process was carried out for the purpose of obtaining about 2kg/batch. The core content of microcapsules was determined by the extracting method. The SEM results depicts that under the scale-up conditions the diameters of most part of sulfur microcapsules were about 1µm and some of the microcapsules have become agglomerates. The setting goal of 2kg/batch and a slightly over 80% encapsulates sulfur content rate were attained.
