Study on Urban Public Facilities and Basic Design Points in Ageing Society of Mainland China: Based on an Elderly-Care Survey in Nanjing

Abstract:

At present, the elderly people in China are bearing pressures at different levels from living conditions, public transport, social participation, social belonging, and some other aspects. Recently, a relevant elderly-care survey was done. Along with actual situation and statistics, it indicates affecting factors basically in two phases: personal factors and social factors. Then urban public facilities requirements which differ from the general can be deduced. In order to fulfill related requirements, six design points of urban public facilities are listed in consistent with synthesizing the four pivotal parts – human, product, environment, and the society, which contain public facilities-network establishment, guidance improvement, material selection and so forth.
