Abstract: Based on the side hole and no flange and one-step drawing part forming analysis and comparison of the process, the compound die that can complete 4 procedures -blanking, drawing , punching and trimming at in the same forming-position was synchronously designed. Production testing confirmed that there were different levels of improvements in the product quality, production efficiency and economic efficiency. This paper describes die structure, die working process, design and manufacture of main pans of die.

Abstract: This paper introduces blanking, drawing and compound die of the cylindrical parts. The compound die applies the special structure to maintain a constant blank holder pressure, which is not increased by drawing. It reduces the processes and improves the efficiency of production.

Abstract: At present, the flange drawing part with bottom hole is produced by at least 2 sets of dies and not qualifies for modern manufacture concept. In this paper, a compound die is designed which the flange drawing part can be blanked, drew, punched and trimmed in the same forming-position. The die is made of tow convex and concave dies, one drawing female die, one punching die, one blanking female die and one trimming punch. One of the convex and concave is used to blanking, the blank is drew by drawing female die and the other convex and concave, the punching die is applied to punch the bottom hole, the edge of blank is cut by trimming punch. Beside, the key design points and working process of the compound die were discussed as well.

Abstract: The oblique edge punching was proposed to reduce the surrounding sag failure occurred under the large punching force during online punching after stretch bending. The finite element models under three different kinds of punches were stablished and the punching processes were simulated by using the DEFORM-3D software. Comparison between the flat-edge punch and the oblique edge punches were realized, and the optimal height of the oblique edge of the unilateral bevelled punch and the single-peak bevelled punch were obtained. Three kinds of punches were designed based on the simulation results, and the experiments for manufacturing the upper strip of the automobile door frame by the online punching after stretch bending were carried out. The results show that the depth of the surrounding sag of punching can be reduced significantly and the appearance quality can be improved effectively by the oblique edge blanking. The effect to reduce the depth of surrounding sag failure by the unilateral bevelled punch is better than that by the single-peak bevelled punch, and the depth of surrounding sag failure on the side near the edge tip of the unilateral bevelled punch is smaller than that on the side away from the edge tip.
