Research on Morphological Language Applied in Visual Design

Article Preview

Abstract:

Since time immemorial, “language” has always been an important tool for conveying messages. Explorations on morphological language applied in visual design are namely researches on visual thinking and representation. Basic shapes of things can be transformed into component elements in visual design. By properly making use of component orders, the shapes will then effectively deliver information. In this paper, we are mainly to analyze how to select and illustrate shapes, how to perform formalized visual representation, how to figure out visual elements from natural shapes, man-made shapes and pure shapes, as well as the corresponding morphological rules used in visual design.
