The Influence of the Corn Straw Content on the Physical Properties of Magnesium Oxycholride Cement-Based Board Materials

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper studies the effect of straw content on the density, thermal conductivity, water-absorbing rate, and water resistance properties of the board materials when increasing the content of corn straw in magnesium oxycholride cement-based board materials. The result shows that the density, thermal conductivity and water-absorbing rate of the magnesium oxycholride cement-based board materials increase as the corn straw content increases, however, its water resistance property decreases dramatically. In conclusion, when the corn straw content is 25%, softening coefficient of the magnesium oxycholride cement-based board materials drops to 0.65, the appropriate straw content is 25% at the most for the materials under this improved method.
