Stress Analysis of Steel Pipelines Strengthened by CFRP Sheet

Abstract:

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheet has advantages of light weight, high tensile strength and excellent corrosion resistance [1]. Compared with traditional metal piping reinforcement, CFRP reinforcement method is a new and advanced method. This paper which based on the Lame equation deduce the hoop stress formula of the steel pipelines strengthened with CFRP sheet winding when subject the internal pressure. It is available for the research of steel pipelines strengthened with CFRP sheet.
