Abstract:

Large-span gates with the width of 60m~120m were planed in a lake of China. This paper describes concept designs of headstock gears available in sandy-freshwater. Locomotive engine, with hydraulic-motors & gears, was the selection to drive the floating sector gate; The V-rotating gate was driven by rods or hydraulic-motors.
