Analysis and Design of a Circular Polarization Reconfigurable Microstip Antenna

Abstract:

Microstrip antenna with an arc parasitic unit is analyzed, and a Circular Polarization Reconfigurable microstrip antenna is designed. Numerical simulation is performed for the characteristics of the antenna with the software HFSS 13.0. The results show that the frequency channels of the antenna are2.40~2.52GHz as return loss is less than-10dB. whats more,3 dB axis ratio bandwidth is 30MHZ. It can realizes left-hand and right-hand circular polarization switching,and difference of orthogonal polarization is more than 20dB.Moreover, the antenna has a very well unitary radiation character and simple configuration. It is easily matched to 50Ω in low frequency band.Besides,it can satisfy the requirements of WLAN in 2.4GHz frequency band.Therefore, simulation results verifies the feasibility of this scheme.
