Quality Assurance by the Error Cause Detecting Function in a Packet Switching System

Article Preview

Abstract:

Quality assurance method is required to guarantee the subscribers that their data are handled properly in a packet switching system. In order to achieve this requirement, if an error occurs in processing a packet call, the switch operator needs to find out what has caused it. In this paper, we propose a packet subscriber testing function and the error cause detecting methods which can analyze possible errors in the whole packet call handling process including call establishment, flow control parameter configuration, data transfer, reset, and call disconnection.
