Abstract: Cement concrete of airport pavement can be crushed into aggregates for recycle using, and the performance and utilizations of the recycled aggregates were discussed and researched herein. Sieve analysis indicated that the concrete should be crushed many times till the percentage of critical size (31.5mm) can satisfy the gradation requirements. Due to loss of crystal water, the density and water absorption of recycled aggregates were different from the natural ones, so that an empirical corretion equation was addressed subsequently. When the recycled aggregates used in the stablized base, theres no avilable method could yield the optimum water content, therefore a series of compaction and compression tests were employed to set up a modified design method. The results indicated the shrinkage property of recycled aggregates were susceptible to the moisture, either the skeleton-dense material structure and limiting the fine aggregates content were possible ways to eliminate the sensitivity. 7-day unconfined compressive strength results proved the recycled aggregates were suitble for the base course of heavy duty highways and airfield in grade E/F as well.

Abstract: This technical paper shows the innovative approach used in the rehabilitation of the runway of the airport of Treviso. Treviso is located in North Italy and lies about 40 km far from Venice. For this reason, the airport of Treviso may be considered the second airport of Venice and receives the low-cost companies. In order to minimize the environmental impact of the rehabilitation project, the materials coming from the demolition of the old runway pavement were completely recycled in the new runway pavement. Several recycling techniques were used such as the cement stabilization of soil, cement treatment of milled cement concrete and cement-bitumen treatment of reclaimed asphalt. This paper shows the technical application of scientific knowledge on pavement recycling developed in Italy in the last decade.

Abstract: Transportation is that the mankind limits the material space activity with derivation of economic activity because of the topography, air transportation, makes the distance define that shrink, is overcoming the advantages of topography and speed, passenger-cargo main fast transportation type attitude that air transport becomes this century. Thesis this maintain the intersection of demonstration and way of policy by runway, and the intersection of pavement match to the material two factors canvass SMA asphalt to use for pavement of runway benefits of airport from construct. Safeguarded the planning of homework properties to channel into and manage the operation with the commercial properties of value engineering (V.E.) [1] to describe. Thesis of main contribution is to combine behavioral theory and the value engineering of strategy, apply to runway pavement the material.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the bearing capacity of an unpaved runway built in Grazzanise military airport. Structural issues were studied during the planning phase. After carrying out tests required for soil classification, laboratory tests were carried out on different chemical stabilizers available on the market. Four test areas were created at the airport with the aim of finding the best solution in terms of bearing capacity and costs. These analyses showed that the best solution for soil stabilization was recycled ground pozzolan and calcium oxide and tests showed that this materials have a good CBR (California Bearing Ratio) average value.

Abstract: According to the test results of before and after the aging of asphalt performance,we analyse the dosage changes of the HALS anti ultraviolet ageing agent to improve SBS modified asphalt ultraviolet light resistance aging performance role. The test results show that GW-944 can better improve the ultraviolet resistance of asphalt aging performance, i.e., original sample asphalt have no other negative influence in a certain extent, and at the same time, also improve asphalt fatigue performance, low temperature performance and high temperature performance after the light aging, but the performance improvement needs to be in the right dosage range; Therefore,to the SBS modified asphalt we can use such ultraviolet aging agent for performance improvement, the research achievement for the airport asphalt pavement UV aging provide a technical basis for effective prevention and treatment.

Abstract: In order to solve current airfield asphalt road surface high temperature performance evaluation index defective problem, we apply the humbug wheel tracking test, general rutting test and uniaxial penetration test ,and use different evaluation index to carry on the analysis. Test results show that shear strength index and rutting test index on the contrary, regression dynamic stability can't distinguish between SMA - 13 and AC - 20 high temperature performance advantages and disadvantages, creep slope and dynamic stability index consistent; At the same time, the use of bailey method design parameters and asphalt cement parameters on its verification found that bailey method can further explain mixture grading high temperature performance advantages and disadvantages, ratio of filler to bitumen and dynamic stability, shear strength, creep slope has a good correlation, and asphalt film thickness and its correlation is poor. So suggest using dynamic stability and humbug wheel tracking creep slope, rutting depth combination evaluation mixture at high temperature performance advantages and disadvantages.

Abstract: This paper describes a study that was carried to investigate the use of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) in aircraft stand rigid pavement at the Singapore Changi Airport. The study aimed to recycle the concrete waste generated from the demolition of the existing aircraft stand rigid pavement to reconstruct the aircraft stand rigid pavement. The study was a continuation of a previous work in which 20% of RCA was used in the rigid pavement. In this study, laboratory tests were carried out to evaluate the use of up to 100% of RCA in rigid pavement. The test properties that were evaluated include compressive strength, flexural strength, drying shrinkage and resistance to chloride ingress. The study showed that it is viable to incorporate high RCA content in concrete.
