Complexity Thinking: Problems and Confusions of Eco-Economic Governance of Northern Grassland in China

Abstract:

Based on the complex mode of thinking and an “ecological-economic-social” multi-dimensional perspective, this paper faces the facts of the current constructive damage to the ecological environment of grassland in China, the continuing validity of ecological investment, and the new resources and environmental problems appeared during the industrialization, as well as the key issues need to be solved in ecological governance of grassland and the incapability of different systematic policies in ecological governance of grassland. It is revealed in this paper the confusions and problems appeared in the eco-economic models in the pastoral area, which aims at detecting the existing defects and institutional origin in current policies, and provides scientific basis for adjusting and completing the mechanism of policies in ecological governance of grassland.
