Article Preview

Abstract:

The seaport cluster is an important method to make full use of finite resources. According to SWOT analysis, the article proposed that the strengths of Qingdao ports focus on management, brand and information technology. Its weaknesses concentrate on the Inter-port contradiction, collecting and distributing system, and the international trans-shipment operations. The opportunities are the policies attention and the development of hinterland economy. However, the threats mainly come from Inter-port competition outside the Shandong Peninsula region. Through the analysis, Qingdao ports faced with far greater opportunities than threats. Therefore, in order to reduce the Inter-port competition and upgrade the whole competitive ability of Qingdao Peninsula ports, the implement of seaport clusters within Qingdao ports is imperative.
