Tectonic Evolution and Coal-Controlling Structural Styles in Eastern Sichuan
Abstract:
The ejective folds belt and the box like-trough-like folds belt in the area of boundary among Sichuan, Hubei and Hunan are separated by Qiyaoshan fault belt. Since early Middle Permian, the area has successively experienced the effects of paleo and morden pacific geodynamic system, resulting in multilevel and multi-phase structures. According to the geodynamic characteristics, the structural styles of study area are divided into compression style and rotation style, and subdivided into four first-order structure styles with analyzing their coal-controlling effects. Geodynamic characteristics, basement property and sliding layers are the main controlling factors of the structural deformation of coal-bearing stratum. The ejective fold is characteristized by narrow and steeper anticline with a vertical surface and broad syncline; coal-measures are developed mainly at the both wings of the anticline.
