Abstract: Considering topography, climate, river system, and existing problems in Taiyuan, the urban flood control planning in Taiyuan boils down to the following points: determine the flood control standard according to the size of city; study the flood alleviating measures in the upstream area; provide adequate water and soil conservation measures in the mountainous areas reduce flash floods; divert flood from mountainous areas to the downstream area instead of to the urban; improve the river channels in the urban area; provide flood detention and retarding area in the downstream area; study non-engineering flood control measures.

Abstract: Polymer Cut-off wall is a new kind of anti-seepage work used in hydraulic and civil engineering. It is quite different from concrete cut-off wall in materials and sizes. Traditional quality testing methods such as elastic wave tomography, GPR and resistivity imaging are all not applicable in polymer cut-off wall quality testing. We design a new testing method based on DC potential measuring. We use electrodes to build underground electric field and measuring the change of potential near the wall to analysis the integrity of the wall. We finish a series of indoor model and some full-scale tests. The results prove that the method is effective and practicable in polymer cut-off wall quality testing.

Abstract: The construction sequence of cross section has a great influence on the construction security when the sea embankment is built across the viaduct and the construction period is close. In this paper, the two-dimensional finite element static analysis of consolidation is employed, and analyzes the effect of construction on the deformation and stress of sea embankment, bridge pier and the pile foundation. At the same time, the interaction principles of soft foundation and bridge are revealed. Put forward the suggested solution of sea embankment and viaduct construction sequence which can provide a reference for the coastal traffic and sea embankment construction.

Abstract: Spectral element method (SEM), which combines the ideas of the finite element method (FEM) with the theory of spectral method, is being in the initial stage of developing for the static and dynamic analysis of large dams. The best advantage of SEM is that it can arrive at so-called spectral accuracy out of FEMs reach. In this paper, the Fourier SEM has been first used in dynamic analysis of large dams in order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of numerical results and procedure. The study begins with the governing equation of motion of large dams, then deduces the corresponding SEM stiffness, mass (damping) matrix and equivalent load vector taking advantage of the Fourier interpolation polynomials to approximate the unknowns in spatial domains. This paper also reveals the valuable application of SEM in complicated structural engineering. The formulation proposed in this paper can also be applied to the general dynamic analysis of physical structures.

Abstract: Studied a certain thickness layered sediment of different distribution form for the seismic response of a concrete dam, Based on pressure wave equation of saturated porous fluid-solid medium, the layers of sediment thickness is different, divided the layered sediment into three different distribution forms, the physical parameters of each layered sediment divided into the same and the different two situations, prediction the seismic response magnitude of concrete dam. Application of the method of a typical example shows the influence on the same physical properties different forms of response to the seismic response was not significant, the distribution of different forms of seismic response shows a significant effected. solid medium, the layers of sediment thickness is different, divided the layered sediment into three different distribution forms, the physical parameters of each layered sediment divided into the same and the different two situations, prediction the seismic response magnitude of concrete dam. Abstract: Analogy method is adopted to work out the prediction parameters, and empirical formula is used to calculate the possible amount of soil erosion. Then, the conclusion of soil erosion prediction is drawn, and the suggestions are proposed as follows. Take the river regulation zone as the key point to soil prevention and conservation monitoring work, especially in rainy season. Drainage and connecting work to the neighbor water system should be well arranged. Restore the project sites and revegetate the plant at the final period of construction.

Abstract: A model experiment about the hydraulic roughness of natural turf used in riverbank was carried out in flume. To examine the rationality of experimental design, the hydraulic roughness coefficient of plexiglass-flume was tested firstly. The result was 0.0085, which is quite normal. Then the tested hydraulic roughness caused by vegetation ranges from 0.020 to 0.090 for the chosen plants, which is also acceptable. Furthermore, the tested incipient velocities of krasnozem, and paddysoil had the range of 0.55~0.65m·s-1 and 1.0~1.1m·s-1, respectively. All these experimental results are in normal range, which means that the design of this experimental is rational. Experimental research illustrate that, the roughness coefficient of plant reduces with the increasing of flow velocity. When the mean flow velocity is over 3m·s-1, Mannings n values vary between 0.025 and 0.035. This phenomenon is accord with the theoretic analysis. During the scouring process, not only the flow velocity, but also the flow duration has an obvious effect on the coarseness of vegetative bed.

Abstract: The steam flooding pilot test in Jin 45 block has steam flooding 4 years since June 2008 turned the drive. But now,it still don't understand the production dynamic, the degree of use of the reservoir, the effect of development of this pilot and the situation of temperature field, pressure field and saturation distribution field .Now petrel and CMG software are applied for the tracking simulation,on the basis of optimization of injection-production parameters, put forward effective adjustment scheme for the forecast of steam flooding .The results show that:at present, test is in displacing stage, after two adjusted in 2010 and 2011,the daily fluid and daily oil increased, moisture content decreased .The using of the layer of I35 is obvious. The using of the1,2 small layers of I group is high, the 4 small layer is low,the using of plane is great different. The pilot test of steam flooding in Jin 45 block has achieved good development effect,it offers an important basis for determining to replace mining mode of the later stage of cyclic steam stimulation of reservoir.

Abstract: The limited water level of reservoir by stage, fully consider the seasonal variations of the average annual precipitation characteristics in every reservoirs control catchment. Its not only ensuring the rational use of water resources, increasing economic and social benefits to the reservoir, but also ensuring the safety of flood control reservoir flood season, to protect people's lives and property. Determine flood limit level for small reservoir by installments should consider the balance between the economic benefits from improving the water level and the consumption of human and financial resources caused by the installments flood water level adjustment. At the same time, the water resources should be intelligent used in order to let the level of reservoir get in normal. This paper, according to the characteristics of small reservoir, calculated on the reservoir storage capacity can be increased basis of the existing flood control capacity through calculating the value of membership function during reservoir flood season. So that the new limited water level can be obtained after calculating the reservoir capacity increase according to the capacity-water level graph.

Abstract: The indoor scale-down tests were done to study the law of dredged mud during self-weight sedimentation. The tests reveal that the configuration method of the dredged mud and the changes of sea salt concentration have great influence to self-weight sedimentation, the dredged mud which is used by the indoor scale-down tests should be configured by sea near the project, and the higher price of metal cations can accelerate self-weight sedimentation of dredged mud, and the appropriate amount of chemical additive can also accelerate self-weight sedimentation of dredged mud, and improve soil properties.
