Abstract:

The 12th Five-year Plan for the Development of Tourism Industry in Shanghai emphasized that Shanghai should be built into a world-class tourism city, However, Shanghai is still some way from becoming a world famous tourism city, so, this paper explores the strengths and bottlenecks of Shanghai in its efforts of building into a world famous tourism city based on the analysis of the development driving models of the world famous tourism cities, and proposes the corresponding countermeasures, aiming to shed light on how to improve the international competitiveness and influence of the tourism industry in Shanghai and build Shanghai into a world famous tourism city
