Design of Detection System for Eccentric C/O Logging Tool

Article Preview

Abstract:

To improve the vertical resolution and statistical accuracy of C/O logging, a new structure of the logging tool is proposed. In the processing of logging, the tool is set close to the inner wall of the casing by the sidewall contact device, and the shield between the two detectors and borehole fluids is employed, it makes both the detectors chiefly collect formation information. Based on the program above, the detection system and the sidewall contact device are processed and assembled with DDCO-III C/O logging tool. The simulative well experiment results show that the eccentric C/O logging tool has less borehole effect, higher logging sensitivity and better formation distinguishing ability.
