Abstract:

The winter in northern China is cold and dry. With the centralization and generalization of heating devices, people have become more and more aware that dry environment does not only cause loss of water in the body, but also breeds numerous germs threatening health. In response, humidifiers are created. The widespread use of air-conditioners because of climate has accelerated the development of humidifiers. Although it is expanding, the potential consumer market of humidifiers has not been fully developed as the designers ignore students who are believed to be a big consumption group. This paper touches three aspects of humidifier design: material, appearance and color. According to the research, the humidifier market is believed to be better developed if humidifiers are designed to meet students’ consumption concept by taking care of the three aspects.
