Adsorption of Cu(II) from Aqueous Solution onto Na-Bentonite/Poly AMPS/AA/AM Composite

Article Preview

Abstract:

Na-Bentonite/poly AMPS/AA/AM composite was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization. Na-Bentonite/poly AMPS/AA/AM composite was used as an adsorbent for the removal of Cu (II) from aqueous solutions. Cu (II) adsorption on the composite was a fast process, that >90% of the adsorption took place within the first 6 min.The composite was characterized by SEM and FTIR spectroscopy. Chelation and ion-exchange coexist during the adsorption process. The adsorption quantity of composite was 85.1mg/g.
