Analysis of Comprehensive Benefits of Environmental Protection Investments Based on Projection Pursuit Model

Abstract:

Based on the theory of Projection Pursuit Model, a comprehensive benefits assessment model for environmental protection investments was built. According to values of the projection vector components, contributions of evaluation index to the comprehensive benefits were analyzed. On the basis of the model, overall benefits of provincial environmental protection investments were assessed. Results showed that, comprehensive benefits of environmental protection investments in annual 2010 had a strong regional property, descending from the east coast to the northwest inland, environmental protection benefits in provinces such as Shandong、Zhejiang and Jiangsu were higher, while in northwest inland, it was relatively low.
