Effects of Different Fertilization Regimes on Denitrifying Bacteria in Luvisols Soil

Article Preview

Abstract:

Long-term application of fertilizers greatly increased soil denitrification. DGGE profiles revealed that fertilization significantly changed the community composition of denitrifying bacteria (DNB) mainly due to the differences in nitrogen availability, except for RM treatment. Phylogenetic analysis showed that all DNB sequences were most similar to some genus from the Rhizobiaceae family of α-Proteobacteria class. These results suggest that long-term fertilization have different effects on the activities and community composition of dynamics at different level. Keywords: denitrifying bacteria (DNB), DGGE, denitrification
