Key Engineering Materials
This collection covers the many activities, relevant to the damage assessment of engineering structures and systems, including the signal processing of sensor measurements and analytical techniques, as well as experimental case studies.
The objective of this collection was to gather together the latest information on the mechanical behavior of materials. The volumes cover the progress made in all aspects of the mechanical behavior of materials, seen from both the macroscopic and microscopic viewpoints.
Collections of peer-reviewed papers always make excellent sources of knowledge and new ideas for researchers coming from both universities and industry. The present collection in particular provides interdisciplinary and international resources, thus encouraging the close cooperation of material scientists, manufacturing and computer engineers and promoting the diffusion of research results, and technology transfer, in all areas of Sheet Metal Processing and Characterization.
This “Advanced Biomaterials” collection comprises more than 237 peer-reviewed papers. The latter are grouped into handy sections: Tissue Engineering, Drug Delivery System, Metal, Ceramics, Polymer, Cell-Matrix Interactions, Surface Modifications, Micro-/Nano- and Others.
This edited collection of 240 peer-reviewed articles covers a broad range of topics dealing with plasticity in various materials, such as metals, composites, polymers, foams, soils, and rocks at the nano-, micro- and macro-scales. These informative papers will bring the reader fully up-to-date with the latest research efforts advancing on a broad range of fronts in engineering plasticity
Precision engineering and micro/nano technologies have been developing rapidly in recent years, and are set to become the dominant players in a new industrial revolution of the 21st century. They will not only provide new possibilities for exponential development of the global economy, but also cause a revolution in human understanding.
This collection reflects the current worldwide state of knowledge concerning the latest scientific concepts and technological developments in the characterization, testing, mechanics, modelling, manufacturing and applications of various classes of composite materials and structures. It is also intended to promote the sharing of ideas and emerging technologies, as well as to foster R & D collaboration among academia, research institutions and the relevant industries.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Among the many topics covered by the papers are: bio-active and bio-inert ceramics, composites, coatings, bioactive cements, porous materials, dental materials, orthopaedic implants, antibacterial materials, protein absorption, cell-material interactions in vitro, tissue response and clinical applications. In particular, tissue engineering, drug delivery, nanotechnology and surface modification were covered by an appreciable number of papers; thus reflecting the rapid progress made in these cutting-edge research topics and the latest directions taken by developments in biomaterials and their clinical applications .
