Key Engineering Materials
Scientific Conference of Microscopy Society Malaysia is a series of conference which is held yearly. The 24th Scientific Conference of Microscopy Society Malaysia (SCMSM 2015) has taken place on 2-4 December, 2015 at Avillion Hotel, Malacca, Malaysia. SCMSM is a reference conference associated with microscopy and microanalysis used in materials science, and various fields of engineering and chemistry.
The conference gathers unpublished works related with microscopic studies in various research areas including Advanced Materials, Catalysts, Coatings, Composites, Corrosion and Degradation, Crystallography, Electrochemistry, Electronic Materials, Energy, Green Materials, Glasses and Ceramics, Membrane Technology, Mineralogy, Metallurgy, Polymeric materials, Smart Materials, Structural Materials, Thin Films, Waste Management, Nanomaterials.
This volume will be invaluable to production and research engineers, and also to research of students and academics interested in the field.
ICTA2015 has potentially become one of the most distinguished international meetings for researchers, scientists, engineers, and specialists in the fields of ceramic and glass. The conference offers the most updated researches in science and technology of this field, as well as the opportunity for the ceramic and glass experts to present, share and discuss their works intensively on the topics of Ceramic Industry Research, Advanced Ceramics, and Glaze and Glass Technology.
The 26 papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: Metals and Alloys, Processing Technology;
Chapter 2: Nano- and Microscale Materials;
Chapter 3: Materials and Technologies in Biomedicine;
Chapter 4: Industrial Tribology;
Chapter 5: Special and Functional Materials in Machinery;
Chapter 6: Materials and Technologies in Chemical Engineering.
Collection of selected, peer reviewed papers from various areas of wood processing - chemical processing of wood and plant biomass, processes for the production of broadcast materials, hydrothermal processes and environmental issues, shows a varied range of possibilities in the exploitation and processing of wood and their interdependence. The publication should serve as inspiration for science, research, education and practice for finding the comprehensive approach to tackle the issue. The unilateral approach often tempts to distort the perception of such complex issues as efficient exploitation of wood. Multilateral understanding of the issues can contribute to the discovery and implementation of modern original practices in the processing of wood.
The proceedings of the 12th National Scientific Conference “Ti-2015” contains 35 peer-reviewed articles from 16 Polish scientific centres which cover a wide range of basic and applied aspects of the research, modelling, processing and application of titanium and its alloys. The conference “Titanium and its alloys” is biannual national conference that has been held in Poland since 1990. It is an occasion to bring together scientists and practitioners, exchange their knowledge and experiences. The aim of the proceedings is to develop and promote the use of titanium in technology and medicine. The presented contributions cover these main topics:
- Forming the structure and microstructure of titanium materials as well as their physical, chemical and mechanical properties
- Surface engineering, advanced technologies of surface and thermo-plastic treatmentNew technologies of titanium production and processing as well as their applications in chemical, aerospace, construction, marine industries and medicine.
