Abstract: In this paper, a concept of extended Master Model is presented, mould features are
classified and the master model of information hierarchy of mould is built. According to feature mapping theory, mapping categories of mould features are defined, mapping from mould features in various stage to cost feature field is implemented, which lays foundation for building cost information model of mould and implementation of cost oriented mould design.

Abstract: One of the major barriers to the integration of CAD, CAPP and CAM is insufficiency and incompatibility of product model data among various application systems. This paper presented an effective approach to achieve integrated process planning with CAD and CAM under a product data management environment based on 3D product models. The system architecture and the processes of an integrated process planning system (3D-IPP) were constructed using feature information and specific CAD/CAPP/CAM integration technologies based on feature. A feature-based product information model is designed as the information source for the 3D-IPP. A feature-based integrated process planning method was developed based on group technology, intelligent decision-making algorithms and parametric operation templates in numerically controlled (NC) programming. The procedures of intelligent process route planning and parametric NC operation planning were addressed. The 3D-IPP system and its implementation provide an effective solution to strive for complete information sharing among application systems of CAD, CAPP and CAM.

Abstract: A kind of CAD/CAE integrated modeling method based on feature is proposed. Firstly, analysis features are attached to CAD model of part and standard part library is formed. Secondly, the CAD model is created using standard parts. Thirdly, geometry information of analysis features is extracted from CAD model and is reconstructed automatically under CAE environment. Finally, based on feature-based meshing and combination technique, CAE model is built quickly. A prototype software for large-scale antenna structure (LSAS) CAD/CAE integrated modeling has been developed and used in performance analysis of a 16-meter-diameter LSAS. The method has been proved to be useful for improving speed, accuracy and consistency of complicated structure CAE modeling notably.

Abstract: The CAPP system architecture based on PDM was proposed to realize the integration of Information and function, which was built on the analysis for the processing characteristics of shaft parts of automatic machines. By proposing the multi-level parts feature information modeling and process feature information modeling, developing of automatic sequencing expert system for the shaft parts of automata, it typically realizes intelligent process planning, automatic confirming of cutting usages, automatic selection of technology resources and automatic calculation of cutting tools’ travel, working stroke and tool control parameters of CAM.

Abstract: At present, parameterized design and feature modeling are the two main developing direction of CAD. Integrating feature modeling with parameterized technology is the effective method and measure to 3D design and modeling, which product feature is modeled by parameter. According to it’s characteristic, feature of shaft part is classified and described concretely, and feature information model is established in this paper. Feature modeling method and parameterized feature modeling technology of shaft part are studied and parameterized feature modeling module based on UG NX for shaft part is developed.
