Microwave Synthesis and Catalytic Applications of Novel Cobalt Incorporated Nickel Phosphate

The novel cobalt incorporated nickel phosphate, (CoNiPO4), has been synthesized from aqueous system with triethyl amine (TEA) as an organic template using the microwave assisted reaction system under weak basic conditions. Among various factors used for synthesis, the pH of the reactant mixture and homogeneous heating under microwave could be the decisive factor to form the cobalt incorporated microporous VSB-n type nickel phosphate with novel structural parameters and unique stacked sheet like morphology. Its ability to perform as heterogeneous catalyst was discovered in the aerial oxidation of ethylbenzene and liquid phase oxidation of styrene using aq. hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent.
