Long-Term Monitoring of a UHPC Footbridge

Article Preview

Abstract:

A long-term monitoring of a UHPC footbridge across Opatovicky furrow channel will be discussed in this article. A precast prestressed UHPC girder was manufactured in the premises of Skanska company by the end of 2014. The girder was intended to be used for a modernization of a railway track Hradec Králové – Pardubice – Chrudim, more precisely for a footbridge in Čeperka village. As a part of a footbridge erection, UHPC railing panels were also employed. During the girder manufacture a set of strain gauges were installed in order to obtain long-term strains and deflections of the girder during storage, erection and operation of the footbridge’s girder. These measurements are vital in terms of long-term behaviour and also to gather experiences with this modern material.
