Preface The 9th Cross-Strait Conference on Engineering Materials was held at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan on 7-8 November, 2014.
The purpose of the conference was to promote the academic and industry exchanges and advance the knowledge and technologies between engineers and scholars in the field of engineering materials.
The main theme of the conference was "Engineering Materials and Industrial Applications", aiming to cover fundamental studies, applied research and development and industrial applications of the engineering materials in various fields, including metals, energy materials, nanomaterials, environmental materials, biomaterials, polymeric materials, ceramics, electronic materials, and composites.
The conference held eight forums with forty oral presentations and a poster session.
