The photocatalytic efficiencies of these buried-layer bared structures were measured through dye decomposition under ultraviolet irradiation.

The randomly distributed nanoplate structure increases the surface to volume ratio, which improves the sensing sensitivity.
Annealing in 300oC, the WO3 hydrate changes to g-phase, at the same time, the plate-like structure preserves.
The structure further increases the surface to volume ratio and favor easier H atoms diffusion and reaction with the internal WO6 octahedral structure; therefore, the annealing samples show superior gas sensing performance.
The changes of structure favor easier H atom diffusion, therefore improve the H2 sensing properties.

The results reveal that solid ZnO nanospheres possess a hexagonal wurtzite structure with diameters of 240-440 nm, which are self-assembled by single-crystal polygonal nanoflakes with 20-30 nm in side lengths.
Mircowave-assisted synthesis was proceeded on a MAS-II microwave synthesis/extraction reaction workstation (Work frequency 2.45 GHz, Power adjustable range 0~1000W, Shanghai Sineo Microwave Chemistry Technology Co., Shanghai, China).
All the diffraction peaks are attributed to the standard hexagonal structure of ZnO (JCPDS Card No. 5-664), which has wurtzite crystal structure with calculated lattice constants of a = 3.246 Å, c = 5.208 Å and hexagonal symmetry belonging to the P63mc space group.
A typical broken sphere image is illustrated in the inset of Figure 2b, which obviously indicates that the sphere is solid structure.

Crystal structure of cubic garnet-related type Li7La3Zr2O12.
In the crystal structure of cubic Li7La3Zr2O12, the garnet-type framework was composed of dodecahedral LaO8 and octahedral ZrO6.
The Li atoms occupied two types of crystallographic site in the interstices of the framework structure, as shown in Fig. 1 [6].
The single-crystallinity and structure were carefully investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method.
The powder and single-crystal XRD patterns and SEM-EDX analysis confirmed the cubic garnet-related type structure.
