Thermal Deformation Analysis for the Guideway of Large-Type CNC Lathe Based on Finite Element Method

Thermal deformation of the guideway can cause changes on straightness of moving parts,the guideway surface angle offset and linear positioning error, which will alter relative position relation of the tool nose and the workpiece, thus affecting machining precision of the workpiece.
Therefore, not only is hermal deformation of machine tool guideway an important basic theoretic issue in mechanical engineering field, but also studying its influencing factors and thermal deformation situation is requirement of practical engineering.
In the paper, a certain large-type CNC lathe sliding guideway (prismatic and plane type) is analysed on thermal deformation by finite element analysis software, and the main influencing factors of thermal characteristics are obtained.
The guideway material is HT300, whose material property parameters are listed in Table. 1.

Four-level orthogonal tests based on three improving factors such as water content and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and stirring time(ST) were carried out to improve the method of preparing porous ceramic body foamed by aerogens at ordinary temperature.
In the process of drying the porous ceramic body, with the exclusion of water, water film that wrapped clay particles became thinner and thinner, the surface tension dragged particles closer and closer, which constitute main factor that affect the contraction rate of porous ceramic body.

By using this method of analysis, forgers are able to visualize the internal material transformation and predicting the interactions between the material properties and forming process, material flow, form filling and defect formation [6].
The lubricant used is also important as this will affect the part surface finish and also the die wear.

This processing offers the mechanical properties of a high-density part, the surface fatigue resistance of a wrought part, and potentially the low cost inherent to P/M processing(Fig. 9).
