Introduction
The process of implementing a damage identification strategy for aerospace, civil and mechanical engineering infrastructure is referred to as structural health monitoring (SHM).
Since its benefits, The SHM have implemented on diverse systems and structures such as aircraft, spacecraft, ships, helicopters, automobiles, bridges, buildings, civil infrastructure, power generating plants, pipelines, electrical systems, manufacturing and processing facilities, biological systems, and for the protection of the environment, and for defense.
The SHM will be widely used in aerospace, civil and mechanical engineering infrastructure.

Many applications of viscoelastic materials are reported from various popular industries, viz., aerospace, automotive, bio-medical, civil etc.
Again, from nature, wood is viscoelastic and therefore creep compliance studies will help for getting aging solutions for many civil engineering problems.
It reveals that, in additional to the medical/biomedical applications, the creep compliance study is also inevitable for the design optimization of systems and subsystems for various aerospace, automotive and civil engineering purposes.
Therefore, mechanical characterization of thick-walled viscoelastic hollow cylinder is a meaningful objective for the systems and/or the component designs of various industries, viz., aerospace, automotive, bio-medical, civil etc.
