The main source of attenuation in steels is scattering on grain boundaries, but there are also some low-scattering alloys and metals like aluminum [7].
The excitation laser, visible at the back of the setup, is aiming through the rear window.
Metallurgical interesting processes of most metals and alloys take place below or slightly above 1000°C, e.g. phase changes, recrystallization and grain growth.

Alloying level was evaluated by phase composition and % Fe in coating.
Nearly pure zinc η phase in the coating is transformed into Fe-Zn alloyed coating, containing various Fe-Zn intermetallic compounds according to the Fe-Zn binary diagram [4].
In the case of alloyed and over-alloyed materials Fe-Zn 2 and Fe-Zn 3 with a higher Fe content in the coating there were increased values of friction coefficients f12 and f3, see Fig. 3.
Summary The aim of this paper was to determine the friction characteristics of steel sheets with various Fe-Zn coatings as well as compare contact pressure on die radius at strip drawn tests and cup test. 1.

The coatings dispersed are consisting of metallic matrix (metals and their alloys) and small non-metallic particles.
The article has been aimed to preliminary analyse the possibility of replacement of the traditional finishing methods, by surface plastic working.
Volume concentrations of non-metallic compound Al2O3 in the obtained coatings: 15% and 30 %.
Electrochemical corrosion tests proved that the proposed finishing methods aiming to reduce roughness of flame-sprayed coatings resulted in the corrosion potential value shift towards the anodic values.

During the electrolytic deposition, possibilities for alloys formation that are essentially different in the phase composition and properties from those obtained metallurgically arise, which significantly broadens the range of these alloys technical applications.

As an alternative for powder metallurgy,
shock wave consolidation (SWC or Explosive Compaction) is used to consolidate composites where
the grain size is a factor to maintain, to avoid the intermetallic-compounds formation and when
needed to combine heterogeneous materials
[2].
[2,3,4] using different aluminum alloys as matrix with 20 % SiCp (micron sized particles) second phase, the observations show that after optimal SWC the dendritic structure of the initial matrix powder remain intact and hardness increment is similar across the composite's monolith.
The high degree of accuracy and the fine resultant surface finish make WEDM valuable to machine a wide variety of shapes, miniature and large parts from metals, alloys, MMCs, sintered materials, cemented carbides, ceramics and silicon [5,6,7,8].

Mechanical properties of two Cu alloys (electrolytic and fire refined) severely deformed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) process were investigated.
The aim of this work is to analyze the mechanical and electrical behavior of two nanostructured copper alloys (Electrolytic and fired refined) processed by ECAP.
The true stress-true strain curves of Cu alloys (electrolytic and fire refined) severely deformed by ECAP at room temperatures are shown in Figs 3 and 4.
The variation of the electrical conductivity of the Cu alloys (electrolytic and fire refined) with respect to pass number by ECAP is shown in Fig 8.

Homogeneous Cop/Cu coating alloys were fabricated by laser cladding rapid solidification
technique and their microstructures were investigated, with the emphasis on the influence of
processing on microstructure.
Ordinary, within the gravitational field LPS alloys trend to incur serious segregation phenomenon [2], it is difficult to make the useable composite materials having homogeneous phase distribution.
Therefore research on these LPS alloys should be processed within a micro-gravitational field and need support from the development of aviation and aerospace technology.
The aim of the present investigation was to successfully synthesize in situ Co particles reinforced Cu matrix composite coating by laser cladding, using the principle of liquid phase separation of the Cu-Co alloy during rapid solidification processing.
