The quality of the steel depends on additional factors which cannot be deduced from its grade number, e.g. the manufacturer and the processing route comprising smelting and melting, final annealing and the treatment of semi-finished products.
Fig 1a, b microstructure of the die with distinct carbide bands, c) crack propagating from the die surface through carbide bands Poor mechanical properties are found in materials which underwent an inadequate amount of working.
Final properties upon hardening are to great extent governed by the quenching (austenitizing) temperature.
According to literature [5], even small deviations from the prescribed austenitizing and tempering temperatures and from the cooling rate may have profound effect on the mechanical properties of the material.
The material is then treated in the temper brittleness region and is imparted poor mechanical properties and toughness in particular.

Low carbon steel is a common marine engineering material [5-6], which has low-cost and good mechanical properties.
Mechanical and Corrosion Properties.
Gao et al. [31] believed that pore is prone to stress concentration, but it is not considered to be the main factor affecting shear strength in this paper.
The effect of Cu interlayer thickness on microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance were studied.

(2)Measuring mechanical properties
Cracking shaft from the mechanical properties of the sample measured results are shown in Table 2.
For comparison, the table also lists the national standard GB3077 cracking on the mechanical properties of the alloy steel shaft material 45 required value.
Table 3 compares the mechanical properties of carbon steel containing carbon content of the three morphology of 0.45%.
In fine grain steels, widmanstatten mechanical properties of steel do not show harmful effects.
It seems coarse grains have an adverse effect on the mechanical properties of steel, when there appeared widmanstatten particularly evident.

A plastic brick clay with high clay mineral content was selected and the effects of
different extruder heads on the main physical properties of the extruded products were investigated.
In addition to the physical properties of the products, the pressure caused by the extruder heads was determined by theoretical calculation and measurement.
The results obtained through an optimized inner geometry or rotation speed of the extruder screw have beneficial effects on product properties or reduce power consumption [1, 2, 3, 4].
Pressure depends not only on the geometry of the screw and the head, but the on rheological properties of the clays used [5, 6].
The physical properties of fired brick products changed to a measurable extent depending on the shape of the extruder heads and the rotation of the extruder screw.

Unlike other forecasting models, the model input variables of wind power prediction model are not only historical wind power output but also major factors effecting wind power in order to improve prediction accuracy.
Major Factors Effecting Wind Power Wind farm output power comes from wind power captured by wind turbines.
Therefore, the major factors affecting wind farm electric output are simplified to air speed and air temperature.
As mentioned in previous section, the major factors affecting wind turbine output are air speed and air temperature, so they can be used as model input, and can be obtained from a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system installed at a wind farm.
Further studies will be carried out to improve this dynamic model, such as considering effects of other factors which are wind direction, humidity, etc.

Introduction
The possibility of combining different properties in one material, extending the field of use, has been achieved, and it is steadily improving, with metal matrix composites (MMC) [1].
Important factors affecting the final cost of the material are the type of reinforcement and the process technique.
In the present work, the intensity of mechanical mould vibration is given in units of gravity.
This temperature uniformity will result in a more homogenous microstructure and properties.

The crack initiation was found at the pit along the ridge lines outside the opening area, which was induced by mechanical damage, see Fig.3b.
The micro-hardness around the crack in the shell In order to know the material property around the crack, micro-hardness distribute was measured on the specimen block surface.
Those burns defects would seriously affect the quality and the safety during working.
Pits caused by mechanical injury are also the defects that always be ignored by manufactory, which is one of the important factors affect the fatigue life of accumulator.
(3) The defects as mechanical damage, electric arc flash burn etc. introduced by machining and testing process are one of the important factors that affects the fatigue life of the accumulator.

As the
process relies on a mechanical interlock rather than fusion, it can be used for a wide range of
advanced materials that are dissimilar, coated and hard to weld.
Lennon et al. have carried out shear tests on four types of mechanical connections, these are self-pierce riveting, press joining, pop riveting and self-tapping screws, with sheet thicknesses 1.0, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0mm.
Tang et al. proposed a method which consists of establishing baseline strength characteristics in the six degrees of freedom and modifying the baseline properties with coefficient factors that influence the performance of SPR processes [3].
The strength of the SPR joints is affected by a number of factors including substrate thickness and mechanical properties, direction of applied load, and the geometric configuration of the SPR tools.
The method of the COV For the common monomial multivariate function in the reliability-based mechanical design, the calculation may be simplified greatly by using the method of the COV.

Shielding properties of the composites against thermal and Cf-252 fast neutron were measured.
Factors affecting the shielding properties were investigated.
It can be seen that with increasing boron mole numbers per unit volume, the qualities of two factors increased accordingly.
Cf-252 fast neutron shielding properties.
The fast neutron shielding properties of four samples are shown in Fig.8.

Introduction
Intermetallic titanium aluminides offer an attractive combination of low density and good oxidation and ignition resistance with unique mechanical properties.
In contrast to the numerous publications on γ-TiAl alloy development-processing, fatigue behavior, microstructure and mechanical properties, oxidation and thermal protection, there is a dearth of information on machining performance whether involving conventional or non-conventional processes.
The added powder significantly affects the performance of EDM process.
Experimental procedure The mechanical and physical properties of titanium aluminide intermetallic (Ti-53 Al (at. %)) are presented in Table 1.
Conclusions · From the most critical factors of the powder characteristics governing surface roughness are identified as particle concentration, particle density, electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity
