If the joining temperature is too low, the reaction of joining material and the interfacial
reaction between the joining material and the welding base materials are not sufficient for
interfacial bonding.
The fracture surface of the joints manufactured under the optimized conditions is a mixed-mode one, which indicates a good wettability of the system and a sound bonding between the joining material and the welding base materials.

Abstract.
Introduction Production of wrought titanium and Ti-6Al-4V alloy remains expensive and has, thus, limited the application of these materials to niche markets.
The objectives for the study are to show the effects of customised particle size distributions for a range of powder blends on the properties at each process step, and to relate the densification pathways to microstructure, material and mechanical properties.
The reduction in shrinkage, improved green and sintered densities would have beneficial effects on the material’s mechanical and microstructural properties.
