The Anti-Shear Capacity of Abnormal Joint of Steel Reinforced Concrete Jianing Zhu1, a,Kejia Yang2, b, Xiaowen Li3, c, Ruiwen Li4, d 1, 2, 3,4College of Civil Engineering Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Xi’an 710055 azhujianing75@163.com, byangkejia7224@126.com, clixwgh@xauat.edu.cn, dgaoxing_003@126.com Keywords: Steel Reinforced Concrete column; Reinforced Concrete beam; abnormal exterior joints; minor core; anti-shear capacity Abstract: The paper presents an test and computational results of finite element studies on the behavior and capacity of abnormal exterior joints of Steel Reinforced Concrete (SRC) column and Reinforced Concrete (RC) beam.
Preface With the rapid economic development in China, the nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete joints subjected to seismic forces attracted the attention of many researchers over the last tow decades, while more and more abnormal exterior joints of variable cross-section of SRC column and RC beam, needing proper design and utmost care, appear in industrial and civil buildings, which are still receiving the researchers’ interest.
Based on researches of the joints by finite element method (FEM), in this paper mechanical properties of the joints are analyzed relative to the normal, and the calculating formula of anti-crack capacity of the joints is proposed, which provides help for engineering design.
The formula of anti-shear capacity based on the finite element analysis’ results is proposed and reflects the action of the eccentricity ξ, the steel ratio η, the concrete strength grade and the axial compression ratio, which can provide a reference for engineering design.
