Three-dimensional Viscoelastic Interactions of a Center of Dilatation with a Penny-shaped Interfacial Crack Yuzhou Suna, Yadong Bianb and Zhongguo Zhangc School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Zhongyuan University of Technology, Zhengzhou 450007, China ayuzhousun@yahoo.com.cn, bmobcoco@sina.com, czzg216123@163.com Keywords: Facture; Viscoelastic; Penny-shaped crack; Center of dilatation; Stress intensity factors Abstract.
This paper presents a three-dimensional viscoelastic model to study the interactions of a penny-shaped interfacial crack and a center of dilatation in the infinite viscoelastic bimaterial, which can model the rock fracture subjected to stress and thermal dilatation during some engineering process.
Introduction In the engineering practices, the damage of rocks is always caused by different types of singularities such as concentrated forces, moments, dipole forces, dislocations, point heat sources, centers of rotation, and centers of dilatation.
However, it may be more reasonable to model some engineering process as centers of dilatation.

An Innovative Design Based on CAD Environment Zhi Hao Zuo1, a, Yi Min Xie2,b and Bang Zhao3,c 1,2,3School of Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia azhihao.zuo@rmit.edu.au, bmike.xie@rmit.edu.au, cbang.zhao@rmit.edu.au Keywords: design optimization, topology optimization, evolutionary structural optimization.
The mathematical development of structural topology optimization provides a mature tool for design optimization, although the application is still very limited in engineering practice.
Although the optimization techniques have been extensively developed based on theoretically mature numerical methods, the potential of this design tool for practical engineering design has not been fully recognized.

Shear loading often exists in the engineering practices such as in aerospace due to heavy aerodynamic loads.
Introduction The dynamic development of the technical civilization depends to a greater extent on the development of the material engineering which still searches for the non-conventional materials with the better mechanical and physical properties.
It is also seen that very few studies were conducted on the composite plates subjected to shear loading which often exist in engineering practices.
