This work includes obtaining mechanical properties of equivalent stress and thickness strain distribution, curvature distribution of springback values and deformation defects of dimples and wrinkles using material model of isotropic strain-hardening and FEA models of Belyschko-Wong-Chiang SHELL164 elements and SOLD164 elements (see Fig. 5).
For example, the large MPF press machine SM150 has been designed and built to fabricate curved edges of elbow pillar trusses in the giant steel structure for construction of the Beijing National Stadium of the Bird’s Nest, a “Bubble Building” designed by architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron as the main venue for the 2008 Olympic Games (see Fig. 9).
