Slip-critical joints, therefore, have a low probability of slip at anything during the life of the structure [3].With the advantages of connecting closely, small shear deformation, load carrying capability, removable, resistance to fatigue and difficult to loosen under dynamic loading, slip-critical connections are widespread used in the bridges, industrial and civil structures[4].The steel structural design codes include provisions on the limitations and calculation of high- strength bolts in slip-critical connections.
The use of other values may be approved by the engineer record.
