The paper presents results of investigations into the structure and corrosion resistance of Ti-Al diffusion layers produced on two phase (a+b) Ti6Al4V alloy by Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
The microstructure and chemistry of the coatings were studied using scanning electron microscope, SEM, (surface topography, local analyses of the chemical composition using the EDS), and photoelectron spectroscopy, XPS, (chemical composition and identification of the chemical state of the elements).

Among them, the linear OZnO structure having D∞h symmetry has maximum FBE of 1.14 eV and is the most stable structure.
The two linear structures have singlet ground state and the triangular structure has triplet ground state.
Electronic structure.The calculated HOMO-LUMO gaps for all the studied structures are presented in Table 1.
The most stable clusters have linear or planer structures and not the three dimensional structures.

In spite of these wide application possibilities, the defect structure deciding on transport properties of Co3O4 remains unknown.
The complex defect situation in this material results from crystallographic structure, in which bivalent cations occupy the tetrahedral sites and trivalent cations octahedral positions [7].
The aim of the present paper is an attempt to get more information on the defect structure and transport properties of the Co3O4 cobalt oxide, using modern microthermogravimetric techniques.
Ø The defect structure in the Co3±yO4 oxide is complex, as at very low oxygen pressures interstitial cations are the predominant point defects, while at higher oxygen pressures, cation vacancies predominate.
