40 Years Of "Strain" : A Retrospective Review Peter Stanley School of Engineering, University of Manchester, Oxford Rd, Manchester, M13 9PL.
Keywords: "Strain", International journal, Strain measurement, Review Abstract.
There were the beginnings of a move towards the incorporation of gauges in transducers tailored to a particular job (16.1), and an early bio-engineering application appeared in a study of the load distribution in human feet (15.4).
Topics included a holographic study of the mechanical properties of the engineering ceramics (29.3) and plastic strain studies using speckle pattern autocorrelation analysis (26.4) and peak speckle pattern intensity determination (30.1).
The value of such reports, particularly to the design engineer, is not always recognised. 1995 - 2003 (Vols 31 - 39) This 9-year "decade" saw the move to Blackwell Publishing, as from issue 36.2, and a change in the sub-title from "Journal of the British Society for Strain Measurement" to "International Journal for Strain Measurement".

The Al-based pigments, however, cannot be used for coloring ceramics because of low melting temperature of Al (ca. 660 o C).
The color properties of pigments were evaluated according to the Commision International del' Eclairage (CIE) through L*a*b* 1976 color scales using personal spectroscopy software version 3.02 (SHIMADZU Co.
