By applying the properly calculated and directed shock waves on powders or powder-mixtures special tasks can be realised, such as: · preparation of metallic matrix composites reinforced with ceramic and carbide particles aiming at creation of structural materials, or special electrical contact materials · creation of parts of nanostructured materials without influencing the nanostructure of the starting materials · manufacture of special filter materials The explosive compaction of powders and granulates does not merely consist of a simple compression as in conventional compaction processes but involves a shock wave passing through the powder or granulate mass.

The Effects of Fiber Volume Fraction on the Vibration Damping Characteristics of Three-layer-connected Biaxial Weft Knitted Fabric Reinforced Composite Materials Jingxue Liu1,a, Jialu Li1,b 1 Composites Research Institute of Tianjin Polytechnic University & Tianjin and Education Ministry Key Laboratory of Advanced Textile Composite Materials, Tianjin 300160, China aliujingxue1031@sina.com, bfhcls@tjpu.edu.cn Keywords: three-layer-connected biaxial weft knitted fabric (TBWK), damping, composite materials, vibration test.
Mostly, soft yarn with finer yarn count (5 ~ 50tex), high fracture strength and high shear strength, is used as knitting yarn, such as polyester, Kevlar and other materials.
Materials The materials considered in the analysis are constituted of carbon fibers in an epoxy matrix and were fabricated to TBWK fabrics: The first inserted layer of the TBWK fabric is weft yarns, the middle inserted layer is warp yarns and the last inserted layer is weft yarns.
