To use for reference of existing design environment and intelligent models and frameworks of software engineering, IDE should implement the main modules such as design specification process, formal description of instruction, pipelined logic structures, architecture ADL description, verification and simulation as well as other EDA interface.
The framework of ADL executable specification has the following advantages : l The descriptions can be used as software design documentation l A powerful design means of “Concurrent Engineering” and “Design Space Explore” l EDA design methodology of evaluation and verification l Upgrades and maintenance for product in its life cycle The ongoing research work is about PNML description, and the structure of the processor core to the instruction behavior functional verification.
In addition, there are a lot of means to implement the executable the specification from the advanced technology of today's software engineering.
