The Application and Development of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete in Bridge Engineering LiJun Jia1, a,HaiBo Hui1,b ,QianHui Yu1,c , Yan Song 1,d, 1 College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai, China ajialj@tongji.edu.cn, bhuihaibo89@126.com, cyuqianhui1990@126.com, d songyan1988@gmail.com Keywords: Ultra-High Performance Concrete, Materials and production, Mechanical properties Abstract.Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a relatively new kind of matierials with excellent mechanical and durability performance compared with the conventional concrete.
UHPC has been widely used in Switzerland, Germany, France, Slovenia, Austria in bridges engineering since the 21st century and some of them are listed in table 5.
Conclusions With the high compressive strength and low creep effect, UHPC provides a more reasonable choice for the design in the bridge engineering.
Thus considering all the costs in the term of life-cycle, the overall cost of the projects may be significantly reduced, which indicates UHPC has a big space for development in long-span bridge engineering.
