Evidence of clusters of WC particles was found in microcrystalline coating as compared to homogeneous dense coating structure observed in the nanocrystalline coating.
In this paper the HVOF spraying method is used to deposit micro- and nano- structured coatings onto steel samples.
The ratio between methane-to-oxygen in the fuel mixture was maintained at 0.68 to create an optimum crystalline phase structure within the final coatings.
Further work is underway to study and optimize HVOF spraying parameters to avoid decarburization It is reported that W2C, WC and amorphous structure can form in the nanocrystalline coated samples [6,7,9].

The obtained film can be modified by calcination with urea and the modified film can keep the nanoflower structure.
An SEM examination of the surface shows nanoflower structures with obvious cracks (Fig. 2a).

Raman spectroscopy is proved to be a simple and sensitive method to characterize the structures of Er2O3 films on Si substrates.
No silicide or silicate signal is observed, suggesting that the Er2O3 films on Si(001) substrates annealed in O2 atmosphere above 450˚C are polycrystalline in structure.
On the basis of the internal coordinates, As the ErO6 octahedra are linked by corners and edges leading to quite a compact structure, couplings surely occur.

The diffraction peaks of Cu and CuO and the crystalline diffraction ring of CuO with body centered cubic structure can be clearly observed after heat-treated in air and H2 at 800 o C for 1h.
Pore structure and size distribution were analyzed on Omnisorp-100CX specific surface analyzer.
Experimental study indicates that particle structure is different with different heat treatment temperature.
The diffraction peaks of Cu and CuO and the crystalline diffraction ring of CuO with body centered cubic structure can be clearly observed in fig.3 and 4, so our speculation is correct.
