Key words: Elastic foundation, Rectangular orthotropic plate with four edges free, Natural frequencies and mode shapes, Finite cosine integral transform.
Introduction The use of thin plates is common in all the fields of structural engineering, civil, mechanical, and aerospace.
Integral transform is one of the best approaches to obtain the explicit solutions of some partial differential equations used in elasticity[11] .This method has been often utilized to analyze some structural engineering problems[12].

A major problem with these models based on stochastic process theory is the difficulty in obtaining sufficient data to determine the pertinent parameters in the models and this limits their engineering applications.
The most often used in engineering among these deterministic models is Paris-Erdogan law (1) where is the stress intensity factor range (2) where is geometric shape parameter, and the maximum stress and minimum stress of cyclic loading.

Abstract: Drilling platforms in ice-infested regions tend to vibrate intensively, threatening the safety of personnel.
The two failure modes are frequently used in simulaton of the process of ice sheet-platform interactions in practice and are widely accepted by engineering field.
The paper incorpulate the 3-D consideration into the model, which improves the similarity with autentic engineering envirenments Simulated analysis of breaking length of ice sheet By statistical analysis of a great deal of field data, it shows that ice sheets is destroyed in wedge-shape mode when contact ratio of width to thickness is small(2-8) while ice sheets is destroyed in plate-shape mode when contact ratio is relatively big(8-12).
